RECALL NOTICE: June 24th, 2024
Unfortunately, we just received word that there's a recall on ALL canned coffees produced by the company Snapchill - this includes our Guatemala Huehuetenango cans that we had them produce for us late last year. They also made canned coffee for several other CT roasters, as well as big brands such as Intelligentsia - over 250 varieties are affected in total.
PLEASE NOTE: There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with our beans! NOTHING! The Guatemalan beans are great!
This recall is for SNAPCHILL canned coffees only, due to their production methods - NOT our beans!!
Per the FDA, the recall is in effect with Snapchill "because their current process could lead to the growth and production of the deadly toxin, botulinum toxin, in low acid canned foods."
There have been ZERO reported cases of illness to date. This is an FDA enforcement, due to the fact that they "notified Snapchill that the low acid canned foods process for manufacturing the recalled products was not filed with FDA, as is required by regulation."
If you still have any unopened cans, please get in touch with us asap via e-mail, text, or stop in the shop during retail hours. Bring the cans in and we will offer a full refund or credit towards beans.
Sorry for the bad news, we're super bummed because we've enjoyed drinking these cans ourselves - but we're grateful that this recall isn't happening because of any reported illnesses, at this point it's a precautionary measure.
