Yup, we’ve heard this one before. A lot. Our intention was always to locate the roastery / retail shop close to Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden. Throw in some crazy commercial real estate rates, a pandemic, and a potential business partner that backed out - that's why.
We’re happy to be located close to the Merritt Parkway (Rt 15), a short 15 min drive from that lovely state park! -
NO! Our coffees are not flavored, and there are zero additives of any kind! The tasting notes that you see on our bag labels and on our website are referring to the natural flavors we perceive that come solely from the bean's origin / processing and our roasting style.

No! We have two grinders in our shop - and one is dedicated to decaf!
We can grind anywhere from a coarse french press grind down to espresso. **Due to the fickle nature of espresso, we HIGHLY recommend that you buy a grinder specifically for espresso, as each machine and your methodology might not match up with our espresso grind capabilities. That said, we also encourage you to buy wholebean and grind fresh at home before brewing for the best experience, regardless of your brew method.

We chose our bags specifically for two reasons:
1. The zipper at the top!
2. They're biodegradable!
We could have used cheap bags that you have to fold over and over and over and over.... only to have to put a chip clip to keep it from unfolding. But that's lame, and they're foil / plastic too, so they'll still be in the landfill well beyond your lifetime.
HOW TO USE OUR BAGS:
Simply squeeze out excess air before closing the zipper on the bag, and store it in your kitchen cabinet.Enemies of fresh coffee are: Direct sunlight (ie - leaving the bag on the counter), extreme temperatures, moisture, and those clumsy bags where you have to fold them over 5 times and use a tin-tie or chip clip to keep shut. You KNOW the air is getting in.
